Α defining example of the Corfiot/Venetian architecture, prevalent throughout the Old Town of Corfu, is Saint Spyridon cathedral, a landmark religious sanctuary for locals and spiritual travelers alike. Seventeen sections, in the famous sky blue “ourania” (ceiling) of the church, portray St. Spyridon’s life and miracles. Numerous traditional Greek orthodox lanterns hover above, creating a humbling ambiance.
